Given to less than 3% of RCI-affiliated resorts worldwide, El Cid’s resorts in all three destinations: Mazatlan, Puerto Morelos and Cozuzmel attained the prestigious Excellence in Service award for 2021. This recognition is only given to properties that recieve the Gold Crown recognition and that are also recognized for their extraordinary services.

Operated by Perspective Magazine, the leading independent trade publication globally for the vacation ownership industry, the global recognition program highlights excellence throughout many sectors of the vacation ownership and hospitality industry. From resort specific awards, through legal, finance, technology, media, design, philanthropy, entrepreneurialism, innovation and more, there is an award to recognize every company that operates within the vacation ownership industry.
SafeTravels Recognition by World Travel & Tourism Council
The Safe Travels stamp is the world’s first ever global safety and hygiene stamp for Travel & Tourism, designed to address COVID-19. The stamp will allow travelers and other travel and tourism stakeholders to recognize destination authorities and companies around the world that have implemented health and hygiene protocols that are aligned with WTTC’s Safe Travels Protocols, which also consider and take into account current guidelines implemented by the World Health Organization and also the US Centers of Disease Control and Prevention.
Certification in Health Protection and Prevention in Tourism Facilities
The Certification in Health Protection and Prevention in Tourist Facilities, consists of an online system, self-application, through which tourism service providers and creditors of this certificate will declare compliance with criteria related to the implementation of health security actions. With this we will be able to maintain the necessary health measures for the prevention and containment of COVID-19, in order to generate trust and certainty towards its customers, collaborators and of course the community in general.
RCI Excellence in Service

The prestigious travel site Trip Advisor, recognized for its authority by qualifying the travel services around the world directly based on the traveler’s comments, has once again honored our resorts in Cozumel, Mazatlán and Puerto Morelos with this important award.

Distintivo “H” 2019 by the Secretary of Tourism
The Secretary of Tourism (SECTUR) has promoted among the providers of food and beverage within tourism services a cultural generation of quality, hygiene, and safety in the handling of products that are served in hotels, restaurants and in general any type of food retailer establishments that can reach national and international visitors. The Ministry of Tourism awarded the Distinctive “H” to 17 centers of consumption of El Cid group, complying with the standards of hygiene quality and technical conditions of food handling established by the Mexican Standard.

The hospitality experts at AAA announced our team at El Cid Castilla Beach Hotel in Mazatlán as one of the best. Based on the most recent evaluation by the AAA Inspector, we have been awarded with the, Inspector’s Best of Housekeeping, ranking us elite and among the AAA Inspector’s Best of lodgings. It’s important to mention that AAA designated this “Best of” designation to only 25% of all hotels.

Check Safety First Certification
El Cid family, Ventus at Marina El Cid Spa & Beach Resort located in the Mexican Caribbean, successfully approved the audit by the prestigious worldwide health and safety company, Check Safety First. With this validation, Ventus at Marina El Cid received the Cristal Food Check certification for producing safe and hygienic food for guest consumption. The Check Safety First Group implements risk management systems and software in hotels around the world in order to keep guests safe. Each year and every one of the hotels that have certified, have shown a high level of cleanliness since they have been subject to rigorous audits.
Best Overall Resort 2018
The Perspective Magazine Awards has been recognizing leaders in the vacation ownership and hospitality industries for the past eight years. Winners were determined by four independent industry experts as well as an online voting where industry executives from around the world could cast their vote.. El Cid Resorts received two luxurious crystal trophies and specialty graphics that the resort may use on print and online marketing material to designate its status as having the Best Overall Resort 2018.
